This is just a letter to praise Ed, who was the foreman on our house renovation.

Not only is Ed fun and a great story teller, but he is a man of his word. Ed never forgets. If he says it’ll be done, it will be, and right when he says it will be, or he’ll let you know the new timetable.

Ed has wonderful taste (or at least jibes with ours). The decisions he made on his own were enlightened, and have made our house “smarter.”

Subs obviously respect him, as do worker. He is humble, puts in long hours, is diligent, loyal, doesn’t gossip, and goes the extra mile. He pays attention, for instance, to details of framing, drainage, and insulation which will ultimately be covered up and may remain unnoticed and unsung, but which he has done the right way.

Cathy and I have the highest opinion of Ed as a person and a foreman, and look forward to working with him (and you, who seem to hire only men of Ed’s quality) in the future.

We are constantly astonished that we got a renovation this extensive in only three months. Without even knowing what to ask for, given Kailua’s history of wind, sun and humidity, we got it, and only afterwards realized how intelligent it was. We don’t even deserve a house this nice.
